Lots of details to fill you in on this week...

CONCERT & POTLUCK TOMORROW
The kids are looking forward to showing you all the music they've been working on at the concert tomorrow night! (Alright, some of them are pretty nervous, but that's okay too!) Please have violin players downstairs in the church, ready to tune by 5:45. The concert will start promptly at 6 pm. We'll head downstairs immediately following the concert for a finger-food potluck; please drop off your potluck items downstairs before the concert begins. Please have your children sit with you during the concert and remind them of the importance of being a respectful audience.

LEARNER EXPOSITION NEXT THURSDAY
Please be sure to have your kids here by 4:45 next Thursday night so they can be ready to start right at 5 pm. You'll want to stop by the Discoverers classroom first, then start making your way to the other classrooms for the other presentations. Presentations will end by 6 pm.

PLANTATHON CARDS & MONEY TURNED IN?
Please be sure to turn in all your remaining Plantathon cards and/or money by tomorrow. We'd like to get a total of where we are with our fundraising goal, and I'm still needing 45 more cards for one of our sponsors, so don't be shy about bringing in your unsold cards! After tomorrow I'll be much less happy to see them coming back... ;-)

PLANTATHON VOLUNTEER HOURS
The time you spent planting this past weekend (or this weekend coming up, if you missed it) counts toward your volunteer time-- be sure and stop by the office and record your hours! (Count time for all adults in your group, ie: Mom & Dad for 4 hours = 8 hours of volunteer time.)

VALENTINE'S DAY
Because Valentine's Day falls on the Sunday of a 3-day weekend this year, we are opting NOT to do anything at school for Valentine's Day next week. Please have fun celebrating at home with your kids this year!

UPCOMING MEETINGS
The board would like to remind parents that they are welcome to attend any of the upcoming board or committee meetings; there will be openings on the board this spring, and both the Development Committee and Marketing Committee would love to have you join them. (Board and committee participation count toward your volunteer hours, FYI...) Please check the wall calendar in the office or the school calendar online for meeting dates and times. All meetings take place at school unless noted otherwise.

LOIDA'S "BUILDING CHARACTER" PROGRAM
Please be sure to sign up in advance for Loida's "Building Character" film class, held each Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:30-5 pm. It is very helpful for her to know who will be attending ahead of time. She can usually accept last-minute drop ins, but she appreciates knowing in advance who will be joining her! Sign up sheet is available in the office.

HENERY HARDWARE COFFEE FUNDRAISER
Come buy your latte at the coffee stand inside Henery Hardware on Saturday, February 13th from 8 am-3 pm and 10% of total sales will go back to Swan School!

NEED SOME VOLUNTEER HOURS?
We would very much like to get a section of our fence completed in the next few weeks. We're looking for someone who can set a couple of posts and put up 3-4 sections of fencing. We have most of the lumber, but will need concrete and fence posts. Please see Russ or Carrie if you have any interest in taking on this project!
