November 11, 2009
Hi all,
Hope everyone enjoyed their mini-weekend in the middle of the week!
WORK PARTY ON SATURDAY
The energetic and enthusiastic work crew that showed up yesterday got so much done that we're going to shorten up the time frame for Saturday! Please plan on 9-12 and don't worry about bringing anything for lunch! We could definitely use someone with a pickup truck, and a wheelbarrow would be helpful as well.
PARENT MEETING ON TUESDAY 11/17
As you read in board chair Traci Tanner's email, we have an important parent meeting coming up next Tuesday at 5 pm. Childcare and a light snack will be available for $2/child. The meeting should last about an hour. The board has some big decisions to make about the school's financial future, and this is an important time for you to get informed and get involved.
SPEECH SCREENING FRIDAY 11/20
Each year we have a Speech Pathologist from Jefferson Healthcare come do a free speech and language screening with all our preschool kids and any other kids who parents would like to have screened. You will find a permission slip in your child's folder if your child is in preschool or if your child's teacher is suggesting your child be screened. If you do not have a permission slip in your child's folder but would like them to be screened, please see me in the office; I'll get you a form and we'll add your child to the list. Please get your permission slips turned in ASAP. If there was a permission slip in your child's folder and you would prefer your child NOT be screened, please let me know.
THE GREAT CHANGE CHALLENGE ENDS FRIDAY 11/20
The Great Change Challenge continues through next Friday. All the proceeds will be used to offer financial aid to new students, so help us reach our goal of $1000 and keep checking your pockets! Friday, November 20 will be the LAST DAY to turn in your loose change before the kids head up to First Federal to count it all up!
CONFERENCE SIGN UP
Conferences are just around the corner-- be sure and sign up now to get a time that works best for you! Please note that UNLIKE the Port Townsend schools, we will have a full, regular week Nov. 16-20, then a 12:30 dismissal on Monday & Tuesday the following week, with NO school on Wednesday 11/25. This is a new conference schedule for us, and we welcome your feedback on how it works for you.
