Hi all,

PHOTO ORDERS DUE TOMORROW
If you'd like to order any of your child's school pictures, please turn in your order forms TOMORROW, Friday 11/6.

MONDAY PE CLASS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Stacey could use a regular volunteer for the Monday PE class-- this is the K-2 group. Please let us know in the office if you could be available to help. Time is 1:05 to 1:50, and counts for a full hour of volunteer time.

NO SCHOOL NEXT WEDNESDAY
There will be no school next Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veteran's Day.

THE GREAT CHANGE CHALLENGE
The Great Change Challenge continues... All the proceeds will be used to offer financial aid to new students, so help us reach our goal of $1000 and keep checking your pockets! November 20 will be the LAST DAY to turn in your loose change before the kids head up to First Federal to count it all up!

WORK PARTIES NEXT WEEK
Please sign up in the office for one of the upcoming work parties-- Wednesday, November 11 (remember-- no school that day!) and Saturday, November 14. The Wednesday work party will be from 10 am-12 pm. The Saturday party will be from 9 am to 1 pm and will be a lunch potluck. We will be working outdoors, raking, trimming, weeding, spreading dirt, picking up rock and possibly starting on some fence building. There will be a crew leader to check in with both days. Wear warm clothes and bring work gloves!

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN UP
Sign up sheets are now available in the office for Parent/Teacher conferences, coming up 11/23-11/25.

ANY WORK FOR EVAN?
Our all-around school assistant, Evan, is looking for a job. He was the aide in Melinda's room last spring, and has been volunteering his time in all our classrooms on an as-needed basis this year. The kids love him! Evan is a recent high school graduate and is now looking for his first real job-- he's willing to do ANYTHING he says. He's attending an evening class at Peninsula College, but otherwise is available any time. Stop by the office if you've got any ideas for him!

HIGH SCHOOL PLAY FEATURES SWAN ALUMNUS
Lucas Santana is starring in the PT High School play, "While the Lights Were Out." The play starts Friday 11/6 and runs 3 consecutive weekends, each night at 7 pm. There's a 2:30 matinee on 11/15. See the flier on the bulletin board in the office.

REMINDER-- SWAN SCHOOL PARENT BOOK CLUB
Dates have been set for the first Swan School Parent Book Club meetings-- we'll try two nights so the largest number of people can join in the discussion. The evenings will be Tuesday, December 1 at 7 pm and Thursday, December 3 at 6 pm. The book we'll be reading first is Unconditional Parenting: Moving from Rewards and Punishments to Love and Reason, by Alfie Kohn. It is available through Amazon.com at http://www.multiage-education.com/bookstore/swanbookclub.htm.
