Hi all,

Our update is two days early this week to be sure you've got a couple of things on your radars...

PARENT MEETING TONIGHT!
This is our first parent meeting of the year. We'll be handing out phone directories, introducing the board, providing information about our Friday camping trip, announcing the parent meeting speaker schedule for the next few months, and then having time in the classroom for a more specific Q&A with your child's teacher. We will have a light snack available for the kids, and childcare will be available for $2 per child.

1/2 DAY TOMORROW
School will let out at 12:30 tomorrow, Wednesday 9/16, for staff planning and development.

CAMPING FRIDAY
We will be spending the day at Old Fort Townsend on Friday, then camping in the group camp site that evening. Teachers will be present, but PARENTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN ON FRIDAY; you may make arrangements with another parent to be responsible for your child until you can join us, but please do not send them unattended. This is a great way to meet other families and make memories that will last the whole year! More information about the specifics will be available at the parent meeting tonight.

VIOLINS
If you have a too-small violin, you can bring it in for a tuition credit of $100. If your child is in need of a violin, you can purchase one for $100. See Carrie in the office to make arrangements.

ART AFTER SCHOOL
Our art teacher, Diane Porter Brown, will offer Art after school until 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for $8 per child per day, September 15th through December 17th. Children can sign up for either one or both days per week. She needs to limit the number to TEN per day to allow for adequate room per child, and cannot discount for siblings. Art will be available for kindergarten-age and up.

September 15 though December 17
COST:
Tuesdays only: 14 sessions x $8 = $112 per child
Thursdays only: 13 sessions x $8 = $104 per child
BOTH: 27 sessions x $8 = $216 per child
