Swan School Mission

Swan School builds strong learners in an environment of academic excellence aligned with creativity and personal expression. We develop wise and compassionate leaders as an investment in everyone’s future.

Admissions

Our goal is to provide an environment where a focused learner can thrive in an academically challenging and creative atmosphere, and we take a number of factors into consideration when creating our balanced classes, including:

➢ Gender, age and learning-style balance
➢ Overall size of class
➢ Individual students’ needs and abilities
➢ Whether or not the child has a sibling enrolled
With these in mind, our general admissions processes are as follows:

Preschool Admissions Process

  1. When a family makes an initial inquiry, a staff or faculty member talks with the parent/guardian about the school, answers questions, and sends an information packet to them.
  2. Interested families schedule an appointment to visit the school with their child. Parents are welcome to visit and observe the classroom without their child to determine the suitability of Swan School for their child prior to scheduling a teacher observation.
  3. Parents and teacher will schedule a classroom visit for the child, where the teacher will have an opportunity to observe the child in the class.
  4. Parents/guardians complete and submit the Application for Preschool form.
  5. In early spring of each year, an admissions team consisting of the teachers and Head of School will review pending Applications for Preschool and the classroom visit evaluations. Applications for mid-year enrollment will be processed as they are received.
  6. As soon as applications have been reviewed, a letter will go out to parents letting them know if their child has been accepted or not.
  7. Once an acceptance letter is received, parents have 10 days to submit the non-refundable enrollment fee of $175 and a signed Enrollment Contract in order to secure their child’s space.
  8. There is a 6-week trial period to confirm that Swan School is the right fit for your child. At the end of this period parents can withdraw their child, or the school can request the withdrawal of the child.
